New Construction(Residential
Homes)
|
| |
| Calculations - With any new construction residential
home that comes to our office, we perform complete ACCA heating
and cooling calculations. These include Load, Air Flow and Duct
Size calculations. (see right)
System Design - Different parts of your house will
be used more or less than others, and these may require different
types of air conditioning. For example, an area used primarily
for entertainment would be one "cooling zone", areas
used mainly for sleeping could be another, and so on. We then
approach these with separate systems, or separate duct systems.
This gives you exceptional comfort control, allowing the home
to be controlled as you actually use it.
Project & Owner Reviews - Before we start work
on the project, we make a detailed drawing that allows us
to calculate all the needed materials, as well as give you
a graphical guide in what to expect. We then go over the drawing
and proposal with you and the builder to ensure there is a
complete understanding of your options and what we are providing.
This allows both the builder and you (the homeowner) to review
the project and bring up any questions, concerns, suggestions
or changes.
With
over 30 years of experience in total home comfort, we are
more than happy to assist you with any questions or concerns
you may have.

Load
Calculations: Each room is calculated with
the amount of wall, ceiling, floor and glass. From
this, we determine the amount of sensible heat we
need to remove from each room to provide the desired
temperature.
|
| |
| Air
Flow Calculations: An area overlooked by
many A/C contractors today. Information from the
room by room load calculations is taken and applied
to the piece of equipment chosen. With this calculation,
we can determine the correct amount of air from
the equipment that needs to be delivered to each
of the rooms |

When air conditioners
operate to cool our homes, they are not adding cool
air, they are removing heat. Below are explanations
of some of the components involved in the cooling
of your home or office.
If you have any questions that aren't answered on
this site, don't hesitate to give us a call:

Condensing
unit -
The condensing unit is responsible for discharging
heat. This is the unit that is usually seen beside
a house or building or on the roof. The unit consists
of a coil system, a fan, a weather-resistant compressor
and a control logic. |
| |
Air
Handler - The air handler blows air through
a cold coil (which cools the air) and routes the
air throughout the building or house using a series
of ducts.
|
| |
| SEER
- This stands for Seasonal Energy Efficeincy
Ratio. The SEER is a measure of the air conditioner's
efficiency when cooling. The higher the SEER rating,
the more efficient the air conditioner. SEER ratings
range from 10.00 to 18.00, while some older models
may be as low as 6.00. Upgrading to an A/C with
a higher SEER rating can lower your annual cooling
bill. |
| |
| |
BTU
- This stands for British Thermal Units.
Generally speaking, a BTU is the amount of heat
required to raise the temperature of one pound of
water 1 degree Fahrenheit (0.56 degrees Celsius).
Specifically, 1 BTU equals 1,055 joules. In heating
and cooling terms, 1 "ton" equals 12,000
BTU. |

system is made up of individual, separate components, a properly
matched, complete system yields the highest comfort and efficiency.
The SEER rating reaches its highest when the air handler and
condensing unit is matched properly. We can explain all your
different options and help you choose a system that fits your
budget. All our complete systems come with all the need components
and a full year warranty; no hidden costs.
Ductless Split Systems - The solution for applications
where ductwork is impractical or impossible. A ductless split
air conditioner or heat pump system requires only a small
hole in an outside wall to run lines for refrigerant and electricity
between the indoor and outdoor unit to drain the condensate,
thus eliminating expensive renovation work for duct installation.
Great for additions, garages, small offices, or anywhere a
duct system will not fit. We carry a full line of Janitrol
Ductless Split Systems that have a full five year factory
warranty.
